ADS8353EVM-PDK is an evaluation board lets designers evaluate the performance of the ADS8353EVM-PDK. It is a high resolution semiconductor-based Analog to Digital Converter ( ADC ) belonging to the Evaluation Boards - Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs) category. The evaluation board is designed to provide a reliable and fast interface between real-time analog signals and digital domain signals.The ADS8353EVM-PDK has a number of features that enable it to be used for a variety of applications. These features include a 16-bit resolution and 8 channels, low power consumption, a high signal-to-noise ratio, high accuracy, and a fast sampling rate. It is designed to measure and convert real-time analog signals to a digital format suitable for further digital processing steps. The evaluation board can also be used to measure dynamic signals from the electrical power domain, motor control, signal processing, and more.In order to use the evaluation board, the designer must first connect the board to an appropriate power supply. Then the analog signal is applied to the evaluation board’s input terminal. The ADS8353EVM-PDK utilizes a voltage-based conversion scheme to convert the analog signal into a digital format. The converted output is then available on the board’s output terminal in a format suitable for further processing steps.The ADC chip on the ADS8353EVM-PDK uses a successive-approximation-register analog-to-digital convert (SAR ADC) in order to achieve high conversion resolution in a relatively short conversion time. A SAR converter is a type of converter that continually samples the analog input signal and converts it to a digital output using a set of successive approximation cycles. During each cycle, the converter generates a binary number that is input into the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and compared with the analog input signal. This binary number gradually increases in magnitude until the output of the DAC matches the analog input. Once the input signal is matched, the value is calibrated and the ADC will produce the corresponding digital output.The ADS8353EVM-PDK has the ability to accurately measure a wide range of input voltage levels. For example, the board can accurately measure inputs as low as 15mV and full-scale inputs as high as 5V. The board also has a wide range of Programmable Gain settings ranging from 1 to 10, allowing for the range of measured input voltages to be adjusted to suit the application requirements. Furthermore, the board supports differential inputs, allowing for accurate measurements with a large common-mode protection range.The evaluation board is an ideal platform for measuring analog signals in a wide range of applications such as motor control, signal processing, and power system analysis. It is a comprehensive and customizable platform with easy-to-use evaluation software, allowing designers to explore the device’s features and optimize their design without having to be an ADC expert.
