ADV7282WBCPZ-M-RL Application Field and Working Principle

The ADV7282WBCPZ-M-RL is a high-performance video A/D Converter for up, down and cross-conversion applications. It is commonly used in applications such as set-top boxes, video broadcast systems and video monitors. It is embedded in a series of lithography technology based on 0.13µm CMOS and 3.3V operation.

The ADV7282WBCPZ-M-RL offers several features which make it suitable for many different applications, such as:

• High-Bandwidth Video Inputs: Maximum bandwidth of over 6 GHz. Inputs up to 720p, 1080i and 1080p60 with automatic detection of standard and full HD.
• Three Independent Video Outputs and Digital Audio: 10-bit parallel digital video outputs in YCbCr 4:4:4 or RGB. Digital audio outputs in up to eight-channel I2S format.
• High Dynamic Range: Up to 16 times higher dynamic range than traditional CCTV cameras. Suitable for use in CCTV systems and other high dynamic range applications.
• Integrated Processing Units: Advanced digital filter, motion adaptive noise reduction and frame rate conversion (FRC) features.
• High Reliability: The ADV7282WBCPZ-M-RL is tested with a maximum of 178 hours steady-state field stress test and a thermal endurance test.

The ADV7282WBCPZ-M-RL works on the principle of converting analog video signals into digital form with the help of a series of on-chip analog-to-digital converters. The analog signals are first amplified before they pass through the 4x oversampling anti-aliasing filter. The filtered signal is then converted into 10-bit video data which is transmitted via the on-chip Digital to Analog Controller (DAC) to the external systems.

The ADV7282WBCPZ-M-RL has integrated processing units that can perform a variety of functions such as: motion adaptive noise reduction, linear motion compensation and chroma/luma filtering. It also offers advanced digital filter and frame rate conversion (FRC) features that enable it to down-sample signals up to 1080p60 with a maximum data rate of 10.2 Gbps.
