Through Hole Resistors: ALSR10400R0FE12 Application Field and Working PrincipleThrough hole resistors are electrical components consisting of elements made from metal, metal alloy, alloys and oxide ceramics. Through hole resistors are divided into two types according to their structure: Axial and Radial. The ALSR10400R0FE12 is an axial type through hole resistor. The electrical property of resistance is simply the ratio of potential difference or voltage applied across two points in the electrical circuit, with a defined current flowing in the same direction between these two points. The electrical resistance of a resistor is measured in ohms or Ω symbol. The ALSR10400R0FE12 is a fixed wirewound axial lead resistor with a rated power of 10W, a resistance value of 400Ω, and a tolerance value of ±12%. It uses a ceramic core coated with wire. The core is constructed of insulating material on which is wound a metal wire.
