LED is an attractive lighting solution due to its energy-saving properties. The ACM-8E-700 LED driver is a reliable, cost-effective LED driver specifically designed for adaptive lighting applications. It offers a fully isolated design with a wide operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C. The ACM-8E-700 is strong enough to drive up to 700mA of current and supports forward-phase control for ON/OFF operation on a DC input, as well as pulse-width modulation for dimming control. Beyond its impressive functionality, it also is UL listed as a Class 2 power source with an efficiency of 88.3%. The ACM-8E-700 LED driver has two primary parts: the high voltage section and the low voltage section. The high voltage section is responsible for converting the AC power input into a DC power output. It has a switching thyristor that acts as a rectifier bridge, followed by a fixed filter capacitor used to smooth out the input waveform. The low voltage section is the power output of the device and is responsible for regulating the LED current to the desired level. It has a buck-type switching regulator that operates in pulse-width modulation (PWM) control mode.
