The APDS-9102-L22 is an optical reflective analog output sensor designed specifically for movement, tilt and speed detection applications. Specifically designed for applications that require precise detection and measurement of surface motion, the sensor has a wide working range of up to 480 millimeters and a dual static and dynamic range. The sensor works by measuring the reflectivity of an object and presenting the measurement as an analog output.
The APDS-9102-L22 works by using visible light to measure the reflection off of moving objects. It has two wide illuminated bands on the sensor, so that when the light hits an object of varying reflectivity, the light is reflected back at different levels, which the sensor is then able to interpret and convert into an analog output. The sensor has a protective cover which creates an inner light seal that isolates the operational spectrum from interference from other light sources, minimizing errors.
The APDS-9102-L22 has two analog voltage outputs, one for static range and one for dynamic range.
