High Frequency (RF) Relays are specially designed to operate repeatedly up to a frequency of 4 GHz. The ARS16Y09 in particular is the industry’s premier RF relay with optimal performance in the high frequency range. It offers up to 10 Watt switching capability up to 4 GHz, extremely low insertion loss and superior return loss, as well as excellent isolation from 10MHz to 4GHz. The ARS16Y09 also offers a voltage standing wave ratio of 1.2:1 at all operating frequencies which makes it an ideal choice for switching high-performance RF signals.The ARS16Y09 has a wide range of application fields and suits various usage scenarios. On the higher end of the spectrum, it can be used in high-end laboratory setups, such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) readers, for basic communication systems and high-end antennas. In more conventional settings, the ARS16Y09 is also ideal for satellite television and high-frequency datacom applications as well as telecom/mobile base transceivers. This device is also well-suited for use in cellular phone interface boards.The working principles of the ARS16Y09 are relatively simple and yet highly effective. When the relay is in the set state, the electrical current flows through the relay, energising the coil. In this state, the contacts remain open. When energised, the bi-stable, push-pull design of the relay causes the contacts to move up and down between the two poles, with each pole either connecting or disconnecting the power supply to the connected load. To de-energise the relay, the user simply needs to reverse the direction of the electrical current, thereby causing the contacts to return to their original open position.In terms of its operating characteristics, the ARS16Y09\'s fast switching action and low contact resistance guarantee a high level of signal integrity and noise immunity. Its contact resistance is less than 0.4 ohm and switching current up to 10A (for resistive load); the operational life is greater than 100K cycles. Moreover, the ARS16Y09 is designed for low power consumption and has a maximum power consumption of only 2.2W (conventional type).The ARS16Y09 is a low-cost, low power consumption, reliable and efficient RF relay providing superior performance in a variety of usage scenarios. Its wide range of applications and its low power consumption make it an ideal choice for switching high-performance RF signals. Its fast switching action and low contact resistance guarantee a high level of signal integrity and noise immunity.
