What is Design with ASD2412-R-LR Application Field and Working Principle?

ASD2412-R-LR is an Evaluation Boards – Expansion Board, Daughter Card with 24-Bit, 12-Bit, 1-Channel Resolution ADC. It is designed for the purpose of voltage and current sensing with high accuracy & stability. Combined with the latest advances in analog to digital conversion technology, the ASD2412-R-LR has a 12-bit A/D converter (ADC) with 24-bit effective resolution. It provides excellent performance in terms of accuracy, noise, linearity, temperature stability, and bandwidth over the temperature range.

The application fields can be ranging from automotive electronics, industrial process monitoring/control, medical equipment, instrumentation, home automation, and power system sensing. As it is pertinent to each of these application areas, the ASD2412-R-LR can work well as a current or voltage interface in signal conditioning. Working Principle

The ASD2412-R-LR consists of an input stage, an 8-channel differential input stage, and a 12-bit ADC. The ADC works by first sampling the input signal and then converting this analog signal into a digital signal. It uses a differential input structure, resulting in a high input impedance for greater signal accuracy, particularly when dealing with lower level signals. The analogue input signal is then processed and amplified through the internal operational amplifiers within the input stage, and finally converted into a 12-bit binary digital signal by the 12 bit ADC.

The ASD2412-R-LR can also be set up in a multiplexed configuration, allowing multiple signals to be sampled at a given time. This enables the device to sample multiple signals concurrently with just one conversion. After the signal is converted into a binary digital, the output can then be transferred from the daughter card.
