The ASM3P2108AF-08SR is a clock generator, phase-locked loop (PLL) and frequency synthesizer. It is a fully featured device capable of achieving an extensive range of application requirements in many frequency control ASICs and FPGAs.
The ASM3P2108AF-08SR is able to provide an output frequency based on an input reference clock, ranging from 1 Hz to 50 MHz. The device has an integrated 8-line x 10-bit synchronous SRAM with an LSB of 48 MHz. This SRAM is used for parameter storage, allowing for adjustments or modifications of the output frequency range, providing flexibility to the user. Additionally, a single-wire serial interface is provided for simple programming and control from remote locations.
The ASM3P2108AF-08SR works by first receiving an input reference clock. This reference clock is first divided by two in order to get the Dividend Input Clock (DIC).
