Fuses

Fuses are widely used electrical devices, especially in circuits with high voltages and high currents, to provide short-circuit protection for the circuit, which can effectively prevent it from being damaged by overcurrent or short-circuit faults. Generally, fuses are made of wires, metals, or other materials with good electrical conduction properties, and their internal structures mainly include small pieces of thin metal wires, called fusible elements, which will instantaneously melt and break when the current exceeds the standard rating, thus playing the role of overcurrent protection.

The ATC (Automatic Thermal Cutout) 10 is one of the most popular fuses in the market. This fuse has the advantages of small size, light weight, low cost, good continuity, high accuracy, low temperature stability and fast response. Its working principle is to install a bimetallic sheet between its two electrodes. When the current is large enough to cause the bimetallic sheet to bend, the electrical contacts will be disconnected, and the fuse will be blown.

In terms of application fields, ATC-10 fuses can be divided into two major types: household and industrial. In household applications, these fuses are mostly used for low voltage appliances such as air conditioners, fans, lights, pumps, and other small circuit protection. As for industrial field, these fuses are usually used in aluminum and steel factories, power plants, and other places where high currents and voltages are present, to provide reliable overcurrent protection for these places.

In conclusion, ATC-10 fuses are widely used in home and industrial applications, and their working principle is to use a bimetallic sheet to detect the excessive current and blow the fuse, thus providing short-circuit protection for the circuit.
