B1201UCTP is a 3-terminal axial leaded transient surge protection device (TVS), and belongs to the Mixed Technology TVS family. The VTECNIK devices, as well as the rest of the family, feature a two-staged protection design to provide superior electrical performance, also for low over-voltage loads. The first stage consists of a pair of low-capacitance, unidirectional Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCR) in parallel, and the second stage a bypass diode connected between the capacitor anode and the cathode providing low-profile protection.
B1201UCTP is ideal for use in universal AC mains applications that need both over-voltage and reverse polarity protection. It also provides protection to inrush and surge transients on the power line. The robust and reliable design of this device ensures a longer operational life in harsh environments.
