B12A15005DEDB0GE (hereinafter referred to as "the device") is a mechanical temperature sensor, thermostat switch that uses a bi-metallic snap switching mechanism. It is a type of temperature activated switch which, once a certain temperature threshold is exceeded, flips to \'on\'. It can then be reset manually or through an auto reset feature.The device has a wide range of applications in both home and industrial applications. These include but are not limited to switching on/off cooling fans, controlling heating elements, controlling HVAC systems, motor protection, and lighting control.The device operates on the principle of bi-metallic action which involves the contraction or expansion of two strips of metals with different rates of expansion when exposed to heat changes. The two strips are twisted together where the outer strip is connected to a spring. When the surrounding temperature changes, the two strips will move at different rates according to their thermal coefficients, which leads to the spring deforming or contracting, thus controlling the operation of the device.The device consists of two components: a base, which houses the sensor and electrical contacts, and an operating dial, used to set the temperature set point. The device can be adjusted manually with the operating dial rotated clockwise or counterclockwise to increase or decrease the temperature set point respectively.The bi-metallic components have different thermal expansion coefficients and behave differently when exposed to heat. As the temperature rises, the bi-metallic elements will twist and form an arch shape. This will cause the contacts on the base to get in touch and trigger the switching mechanism, thus turning the device "on". When the temperature falls to below the set-point, the bi-metallic elements will cool and untwist. This will return the contacts on the base to the "off" position and will turn off the device.The bi-metallic snap switch can be used over a wide temperature range, typically between -70°C to +125°C. It is designed with a high-precision temperature control, ±2°C tolerance, and anti-interference ability, so that it can be used for high accuracy temperature monitoring and control.
