Working Principle

The working principle of a film capacitor is fairly simple. When a voltage is applied across it, it creates an electric field between the plates. When the electrical field is removed, the dielectric material slowly releases the energy back. This creates a built-in delay in the capacitor which regulates the current produced. The higher the voltage applied, the greater the amount of energy stored and release by the capacitor.
