The driving voltage of the LEDs is adjusted by the constant off-time control (COT) technique. This technique ensures a stable and uniform output current, regardless of changes in the input voltage, thereby improving system reliability.The driver IC also features open-short LED detection, brown-out protection, over-temperature protection and over-load protection. The open-short LED detection detects any open or short circuit in the LED string, and if detected, the driver will shut-off. The brown-out protection puts the device into safe-mode and prevents it from starting up if the input voltage is too low. The over-temperature protection shuts down the device when the die temperature reaches too high. Finally, the over-load protection prevents the system from latching up and shuts down the IC if the load current is too high.
