BCS-137-L-S-TE-010, or simply BCS-137, is a series of rectangular connectors classified under the Headers, Receptacles, Female Sockets category.BCS-137 connectors are electrical receptacles encased in plastic that are used to connect two circuits within an electrical system. Connectors come with different pin counts, varying from two to sixty-four. The body of the connector is assembled by a top and bottom part, with the two parts fastened together by screws, caulk, and/or adhesive. The connectors are designed to possess high current carrying and great contact resistance capabilities.These connectors are usually used for many different applications, such as cars, home appliances, medical and instrumentation equipment, aerospace, and commercial electronics. It is important to note that BCS-137 connectors are not suitable for outdoor use due to their low resistance to climate influences. The working principle of the BCS-137 series of connectors is based on the contact design of the pinout, which consists of two parts, namely the plug and the socket. The plug part is comprised of small-gauge metal contacts that fit into corresponding pre-molded sockets in the opposite part. These sockets are electroplated with a corrosion-resistant metal finish on the contact surface. Once inserted in the connector, electrical signals pass through each contact, and the connector ensures that the electrical signals cannot jump between contacts, thus preserving the integrity of the signal. Additionally, the contact and plastic body are designed to resit high voltages and protect the connectors against any damage caused by spikes or electrical interference.Overall, the BCS-137 series of rectangular connectors is ideal for many common electrical applications due to its great contact resistance, pin count options, and multiple sizes. Although the BCS-137 series is not suitable for outdoor use, the connectors provide an excellent level of electrical integrity and protection in any application they are used in.
