Working Principle

The BFC238584362 is constructed of two metallized polypropylene films and two pieces of aluminium foil with carbon film coating. During installation, the two metal layers are electrically connected in parallel and separated by an insulating spacer material. The alternating layers and the insulating material between them create a double-layer capacitor, also known as a dielectric capacitor.

When an AC power source is applied to the BFC238584362, an electric field is created between the two metal layers. This electric field polarized the dielectric material between them. The polarization of the dielectric results in a high capacitance value of the capacitor. That, in turn, allows the capacitor to store a large amount of electrical energy, and increase the output voltage and reduce harmonic distortion. As the AC power source fluctuates, the electric field between the two metal layers also fluctuates and the capacitor is able to absorb the additional charge.
