Introduction

BK/AGA-3 fuses are a type of high-voltage circuit-protection components used to protect electrical circuits from over-current damage. It is designed for UL1449 Class 2 ‘Rain-Proof’ Outdoor Service to protect circuits from over-current damage in high-voltage outdoor applications. It is designated by its UL 467 ratings for current and interrupting ratings. BK/AGA-3 fuses are UL Listed for 400-amp commercial power systems and UL Rated for 600-amp industrial power systems.

Application Field

The BK/AGA-3 fuse is used in outdoor and wet applications. It is suitable for circuits that require short-circuit protection and over-current protection. It is designed for power circuits, such as line-side feeders, branch load protection and multi-wire circuits. Working Principle

The BK/AGA-3 fuse is a high-voltage fuse with a fusible element made from a distortion-resistant metal alloy. When an excessive current passes through the fuse, the metal element of the fuse melts and breaks the circuit, thus tripping the fuse. After tripping, the BK/AGA-3 fuse must be replaced with a new one to restore the circuit protection.The BK/AGA-3 fuse is available in a variety of wattage and amperage ratings. It is capable of handling up to 600 amps. The current ratings are based on the fuse’s ability to interrupt a certain amount of current at a given voltage without damage. The current ratings are rated at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 65kA.
