Fuses find application in protecting both hand held devices and equipment from damage due to overcurrent or short circuit conditions. As their name suggests, these devices are designed to interrupt current flow within an electrical circuit in order to prevent further damage. Fuses fall under two categories: resettable and nonresettable. Nonresettable fuses are one-time fuses that are designed to permanently interrupt current. Resettable fuses are usually used in circuits where overcurrent protection is necessary but the circuit needs to be reset on a periodical basis. The BK/S501-V-125-R is a resettable fuse that is used to protect circuits from high current overloads and short circuits.

The BK/S501-V-125-R is used to provide connection and protection to 50A, 250VAC and 30A, 400VAC circuits. It is a Class J Fuse with a voltage rating of 125VAC and can operate effectively at 100 percent of its rated current.
