Working Principle

The BK1/ABC-20-R fuse has two metal strips that operate in a similar manner to a switch. This creates a resistance to the current which causes the fuse to blow, cutting off the power to the circuit it protects.

The BK1/ABC-20-R fuse also contains a piece of metal called a blast plate. This metal plate absorbs the heat created by the current flowing through the fuse. As the temperature of the blast plate rises, it expands, pushing against the fuse and causing it to blow. This prevents the current flowing through the circuit from increasing further and protecting the circuit from damage.
