The BK1/TDC180-7A is a type of electrical specialty fuse made by Bussmann and engineered for specific jobs and applications. It is designed to offer protection against current and fuse overloads, as well as excessive circuit thermal loads.

The BK1/TDC180-7A is a midget blade fuse that has a voltage rating of 10 kV and an amperage rating of 7 A. It contains an internal failed short current-limiting spring element that can provide overcurrent protection and fast circuit de-energization during fault conditions. It is designed to interrupt current in low-voltage operations. The BK1/TDC180-7A fuse is a 3/16 diameter fuse suitable for use in all 90° C branch circuit and panelboard load center applications.

The application field of BK1/TDC180-7A fuse mainly includes motor control centers, relay protection centers, junction boxes, generators and oil-filled transformer panels. Its working principle relies on the melting of a metal alloy element within the fuse. The metal alloy element is designed to be heated and melted by the excessive current and when it melts, it interrupts the flow of electricity, preventing the current from flowing. This will then trip the circuit breaker and prevent it from overload burning the wires.
