The BOB-10680 evaluation and demonstration board and kit from Digilent is used for the analysis and performance evaluation of electric motor control systems, allowing engineers to understand the nuances in controlling the power to the motor. The board is also well-suited for testing stepper motor solutions and understanding the controlling of the torque of the motor. This board is also used in the development of wide bandgap semiconductor solutions.The board use a wide range of integrated high-efficiency 3-phase mid-voltage DC-DC converters for powering the motor with a native voltage of 24V. The board works with any control scheme that communicates via UART, CAN, or space vector modulation SVPWM. The BOB-10680 works with three main components. The FET driver has eight connectors for the gate drive options for the voltage source and the power MOSFETs. The primary section also has integrated gate drive capaciators. The board also works with a microcontroller through its 8-bit ATtiny13A and integrated dual-channel 12-bit ADC.The motor control uses both of the AC motor control PWM outputs as digital I/O pins on the ATtiny13A microcontroller. This also allows for stepper motor control. The board controls both the current and the speed of the motor. It also works with dual encoders, which in turn allows for more precise parameters. The board also uses a hall sensor for on-demand current control.To test the motor control, the BOB-10680 uses its built-in sensing interface integrated into the ATtiny13A microcontroller to monitor the motor’s current and power. The board is also equipped with a power meter, an oscilloscope, and a thermal relay. To gain a better understanding of the working of the board, it is also supplied with an example code and detailed documents.The board is also used to develop solutions for wide-bandgap semiconductors.
