The BQ29312APWR is an application specific integrated circuit, or ASIC, which belongs to the Power Management IC (PMIC) family of integrated circuits specifically designed for battery management. It provides a fully integrated, high-efficiency power management system for applications requiring very efficient power delivery and battery management capabilities. The device is highly versatile, providing a high level of flexibility for its users. The BQ29312APWR is a compact, high-efficiency buck/boost/linear regulator with an integrated N-channel MOSFET for battery operation. The device is also capable of providing short circuit protection, over-temperature protection, and over-voltage protection. The device is designed to be used in a wide range of applications including consumer, automotive and industrial products.The BQ29312APWR is specially designed for battery applications. It offers efficient power conversion between a Li-Ion or Li-Po battery and the system voltage. When in battery operation, the device will operate in buck/boost or linear mode. If the input voltage from the battery is higher than the system voltage, it will operate in buck mode to reduce the voltage. Conversely, if the input voltage from the battery is lower than the system voltage, it will operate in boost mode to raise the voltage. In linear mode, the output voltage does not change and is constant. The BQ29312APWR also features an integrated N-channel MOSFET for low-side power switch control. This allows the device to protect the battery from short circuiting or over-temperature conditions. Additionally, the device features an Adaptive Over-Voltage Limiting (AOVL) protection, which protects the system from excessive output voltage during load transients.The BQ29312APWR is well suited for applications requiring simple battery management systems. Additionally, the device is ideal for management of multiple Li-ion or Li-Po batteries in series. The BQ29312APWR is available in several package options.
