The BQ29700EVM-610 is an Evaluation and Demonstration Board and Kit from Texas Instruments (TI) designed to support the BQ29700 programmable protected cell fuel gauge. It includes the power board, which provides an unregulated 16V DC back-up power supply, a stepper motor interfaced with the BQ29700EVM-610, and an intuitive user GUI. The BQ29700EVM-610 can be used to evaluate the performance and features of the BQ29700 fuel gauge, such as self-discharge and state-of-health monitoring, linearity, accuracy, average power-on reset (POR), reverse current protection, over/under voltage protection, and cell-balancing. Additionally, the BQ29700EVM-610 is designed with calibration features that help the user fine-tune the performance of the fuel gauge. The working principle of the BQ29700EVM-610 is simple. It utilizes a stepper motor connected to a load resistor to simulate the discharge characteristics of up to eight Li-Ion cells.
