Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits play a vital role in the development and operation of different projects. BQ2980EVM-883, one type of demo board, is a useful tool for evaluating the device and application mixed-signal motor drivers in the development cycle of different projects. The BQ2980EVM-883 demonstration board is based on the BQ2980xR single-package device, which is a low-voltage low-power embedded-system motor-control driver. It integrates a low-voltage drive input with a hardware PWM module. It can be widely used in different products such as robotic vacuum cleaners, washing machines, and window cleaners. The BQ2980 EVM-883 board features a pair of screw terminals for connecting DC motors and an IDC connector mounted inside the assembly of the board. The DC motor control can be regulated with two potentiometers mounted inside the board for adjusting the current drive and the speed control of the DC motor.The BQ2980EVM-883 demonstration board is an integrated test base for evaluating the parameters and features of the device including current limit, open loop current regulation, and speed control. It also offers an adjustable inrush current limit and a comparator circuit to detect and shut down the motor’s current in case of over-load. Users can also manually adjust the current boost for the motor to make it more efficient and reduce the power loss during operation. The board is designed to work with the BQ2980xR chipset and five additional external components. It also includes an ESP-WROOM-02 module for WiFi communication, a 128 Mbit SDRAM, 128 Mbit Flash and a few other components required for the application operation. The BQ2980EVM-883 board enables users to assess the performance of the motor driver chip and application circuit with different DC motors. The board features a number of different test points, including current limit and speed control, in order to help the user evaluate the performance of the chip in various conditions. The DC motors used on the board are rated for 3.3V and 1.7A and have a power range of 0 to 3.3V. The demonstration board also includes two LEDs to indicate the state of the board and a diagnostic port for controlling the board via the USB port. The diagnostic port makes it easier for the user to change parameters and adjust the waveforms of the motors.The BQ2980EVM-883 board offers a great platform for researching and testing different applications. It provides an easy-to-use and cost-effective testing platform to evaluate the performance of the chip in different conditions, including current limit and speed control.
