The BSPD400480D3P uses a combination of silicon-based semiconductor technologies and discrete components to provide both low-capacitance bidding and higher-capacitance bids protection. The higher capacitance biddings are used to absorb the majority of electrical surges without damaging the protected components within the system, while the low capacitance biddings protect the system from large voltage spikes that could cause catastrophic component damages.

The BSPD400480D3P application field consists of applications where high capacitance is needed for robust surge protection. Since the current is conducted in both directions, the two directions of current will be balanced which will lead to a decrease in the amplitude of the transient surge. In addition, the two bid discs will also be in thermal equilibrium which will further reduce the amplitude of the transient surge.

The BSPD400480D3P utilizes a combination of technologies which enable it to provide efficient and reliable protection against high-frequency ESD transient pulses. The low-capacitance bid disc prevents catastrophic component damages while the high-capacitance bid disc absorbs remaining energy and reduces the voltage level of the surge to a safe level.
