BSW-124-04-T-E application field and working principleBSW-124-04-T-E are part of the rectangular connectors - headers, receptacles, female sockets. Connectors in this family are used in a variety of applications, including data communications, industrial automation, military, aerospace, automotive, medical, lighting, and other applications. A header is a type of cable-connector assembly formed by soldering one or more contacts to a cable and covered by a strain relief. The contacts are available in various sizes, shapes and polarities. Receptacles are the mating connectors that are designed to mount to a printed circuit board and feature solder tails that extend through the board and mate individually to the contact pins. BSW-124-04-T-E headers and receptacles are designed for use with cables, for example coaxial or twin-axial cables. They feature four contacts placed in a standard row spacing and the headers are available with top, side or vertical entries. The contact pitch of the header is 1.27 mm (0.050") and the row spacing is 6.50 mm (0.256"). The receptacles feature solder terminals with a spacing of 1.45 mm (0.057") and a row spacing of 7.14 mm (0.281").The headers and receptacles of the BSW-124-04-T-E family are made of a polyamide (Nylon) 6.6 composite material, combining excellent chemical and strength properties. They are UL 94 V-2 flammability rated for increased reliability and safety. The contacts are made of phosphor bronze for increased electrical performance. The electrical contact resistance of the assembled connectors is 30 milliohms maximum. The working voltage and current rating are AC 200 V and 2 A respectively. The insulation resistance of the connectors is 5000 Megaohms. In order to ensure secure signal integrity, the connectors feature two internal shields, connected to the contact conductors and shells. An additional shielding feature is available as an option. To ensure the highest performance, BSW-124-04-T-E headers and receptacles undergo a range of tests in accordance with leading industry standards. These tests cover insulation resistance, contact resistance, dielectric withstanding voltage, durability, mechanical life and torque resistance.The overall dimensions of the headers and receptacles are 18.7 mm (0.737") in length, 11.7 mm (0.457") in width and 10.8 mm (0.425") in height. The headers weigh about 2.3 g (0.080 oz) and the receptacles weigh about 1.1 g (0.039 oz). The BSW-124-04-T-E headers and receptacles are designed to provide reliable connections in demanding industrial and aerospace applications.
