Rectangular Connectors - Headers, Receptacles, Female Sockets are a type of electrical connectors designed to mate a circuit board into an electronic system. The BSW-126-04-G-M Connector is a one-row, eight-contact symmetrical type board-stacking header with 2mm spacing between contacts, and having a 0.5mm pitch. The pin array is symmetrical with 1mm housing clearance, allowing the same header to plug-in or stack in either orientation.

The BSW-126-04-G-M Connector includes product features such as support for right-angle Board-to-Board (BTB) style connections, lower profile of 1.35mm, and slimmer width which saves space on the board, twelve polarization points to ensure correct mounting and secure connections, narrow pitch for higher terminal density, secure mating protection feature to prevent accidental contact dislodgement, dual beams and contact seals for reliable electrical performances, and ‘SMT\' design capable of soldering on either side of housing.

The connector is used extensively for Board-to-Board (B2B), Wire-to-Board (W2B), and Power Connections (PC). It has a wide array of industrial applications including Computing, Point of Sale (POS), Test & Measurement, Electronic Counter, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, Military and High-Power Applications, and much more.

The BSW-126-04-G-M Connector works on two principles: the connection of the electrical contacts and the secure tab lock. The pins or terminals are generally located in the “shoulder" of the connector. The contact pins are generally made of brass or phosphor bronze and are gold plated for corrosion resistance. The pins are sized to ensure secure electrical connection when mated. The rear of the pins are designed to wire up the circuit and make contact. The tab lock, which is an integral part of the contact, removes any play between the mating connectors and also provides an additional strain relief for wire connections.

The tab with which the connectors lock is usually located at the mid-point of the mating connector. The tab can be easily accessed by using a pick-tool or by finger pressure. The tab is formed in such a way that it allows a positive lock between the connectors when they are connected. The tab is formed to penetrate the contact housing and to form a spring effect which allows the connector to be securely locked in place.
