Description

The BTS555 is a low voltage linear load switch designed to control the connection and disconnection of the load voltage to the system power rail. It also provides accurate current control and precise current limit control. The device provides a low on-resistance connection between the system power supply and the load, with a dynamic current limit of up to 4.5A and a voltage of up to 20V. The BTS555 is a very efficient and reliable method of power distribution, load protection, and load switching. It is ideal for applications that require an efficient, low current loss distribution path. It can be used for power distribution and controlling the power state of the load in low voltage applications. The BTS555 works by regulating the efficient flow of load current between the load and the power rail. To do this, its main component is a low threshold MOSFET integrated in the device. At low currents, the device is self-biased, i.e., it maintains current without biasing. When the load current exceeds the overcurrent threshold, the MOSFET is disabled, preventing further current flow. The device then enters a low impedance locked state, keeping the load isolated from the system power supply. Design considerations

       - It is recommended to add a TVS tube for long cable loads
