The C146 P16 001 G8 connector is suitable for use in multiple markets ranging from wireless infrastructure to industrial controllers. It has been designed to work in areas with temperatures as high as 400-600⁰C, and so is an ideal choice for applications where electrical connections must be made in extreme conditions. Its compatibility with wire crimping methods allows for excellent assembly speed, as well as exceptional performance and durability.
As part of the multi-metal design, the C146 P16 001 G8 connector utilizes a molded thermoplastic and polyolefin insulation for added security and temperature resistance. Its design also supports an insert arrangement that facilitates quick, reliable connection and constant contact of wire strands, which leads to superior electrical connection that is resistant to environmental effects. This also ensures that fewer contacts are needed for larger wire sizes.
In terms of its working principle, the C146 P16 001 G8 is composed of a shell, insert, insert nuts, nut and crimp barrel. The insert nuts, nuts and crimp barrels are all removable, allowing easy access for assembly and maintenance. In use, an insert nut and a nut are threaded onto the insert until the insert’s locking lugs make contact with the insert nut. As the nut is tightened, the locking lugs interact with a ratchet in the insert and, when fully tightened, the connector’s mechanical and electrical properties are established and the connection secure. This process, which is easily reversible, acts as a “key” and ensures that the connection made by the connector is always strong and secure.
