Application Field

The CBP-20BA is designed to meet the needs of modern electrical protection requirements across multiple areas in industry, such as power plants, substations, factories, etc. It can be used in AC 50Hz or 60Hz networks, with rated voltage up to 1000V and rated current up to 630A. It is suitable for switching and making/breaking functions in circuits with no more than 5 times rated current under inductive and resistive load.

Working Principle

When the current flowing through the breaker reaches the rated current, an electromechanical device called a solenoid pulls in, driving a plunger to mechanically open the circuit breaker. As the contacts open, an arc is formed between the contacts. This arc is extinguished by a combination of either air blast nozzles positioned around the contacts, or a mechanical arc-quenching device built into the breaker. The current release also plays a role in determining the make/break timing of the breaker.

Once the arc has been extinguished, the spring-loaded device underneath the breaking contacts causes the spring-loaded contacts to move back together, restoring power to the circuit. The CBP-20BA features a manual release, so that the circuit can be manually opened at any time, regardless of the current flowing through it.
