A CCP-AUX (Continuous Carrying Pilot-Actuated Unlocking eXtractor) is a type of disconnect switch component used in equipment with high current requirements. It is a special type of relay switch component that is designed to run continuously and provide reliable power control when the device is powered on. The main purpose of a CCP-AUX is to protect the equipment from high-current over- voltages and short circuits. It operates by continuously providing both a pilot voltage and pilot current to unlock the switch contacts. When the contacts are opened, the pilot current is locked-in, and the switch remains closed. This prevents any unintended operation and keeps the device safe.

A CCP-AUX is usually composed of two main parts: a pilot switch and a load switch. The pilot switch monitors the load current and provides the pilot voltage while the load switch acts as the main load path. When the device is powered on, the pilot switch unlocks the load switch, allowing current to pass through. The pilot voltage is monitored to ensure that the switch will not open abruptly, causing a short circuit. The load switch is then closed, and the current is safely delivered to the load.
