Introduction

CD74HC368MG4 is a quad, Octal Buffer / Line Driver with 3-state outputs. It is a CMOS device with a 3.6-V to 5.5-V power supply range. CD74HC368MG4 is designed for high-speed memories and systems where software controls are not needed. It features eight non-inverting buffers with 3-state output and an open-drain output enable, OE, line. It has a very high speed and a high degree of output sink and source capability.

Working Principle

CD74HC368MG4 is composed of eight independent non-inverting buffers with output enable control. When the output enable, OE, terminal is low, all buffer outputs are in the high impedance off state. When OE is held high, each buffer output will be the same level as its respective input. Each buffer output has its own independent enable, allowing it to be turned on or off in any order.

Each buffer of CD74HC368MG4 operates in both voltage and current transfer mode. The input logic level is a combination of both the logic high transfer level, Vih, and the logic low transfer level, Vil. The output high level is determined by the voltage comparator and the output low is determined by the current comparator. All inputs and outputs are capable of handling both positive and negative current.
