The CD74HC541M is an 8-channel multiplexer/demultiplexer logic device that offers logic buffers, drivers, receivers, transceivers and many other applications.
Basically, the device acts as a data switch with eight independent I/O buffers, allowing it to be used as an 8-to-1 multiplexer or a 1-to-8 demultiplexer. Each of the eight outputs can be individually enabled or disabled via the logical control inputs. This makes the device ideal for data routing and byte-wide address decoding.
The logic pins of the CD74HC541M consist of three control pins and eight output pins. The two power supply pins, VCC and GND, provide the power necessary for proper operation. The logic levels of the control and data inputs can be either a TTL standard or CMOS levels.
The three control pins are defined as C1, C2 and C3. C1 and C2 are used to select the channel, while C3 is used to enable or disable the channel selection.
