Working Principle

The CDV30EH300JO3 mica and PTFE capacitors consist of four layers. The first layer is a mica sheet, which serves as a high dielectric substrate. The second layer is an electrochemically deposited metal coating, called the "metallized capacitance layer", which increases the effective capacitance. The third layer is an ultra-thin (typically 0.1 mm to 0.15 mm) pure PTFE layer, which acts as an electrical insulator and further increases the capacitance. The fourth layer is a tinplate intermediate pressing layer, to increase the mechanical strength. This capacitance sheet is then wrapped in a plastic film (nylon-12) in the shape of a cylindrical capacitor body.
