Optics - Remote Phosphor Light Source
The CL-930-DOM100-PC application field and working principle is related to optics, in particular remote phosphor light source. Remote phosphor light sources are a form of solid-state lighting which utilizes the characteristics of phosphors to produce white light from certain colored emitters, such as blue LEDs or UV-LEDs. The phosphor is separated from the source of radiation and placed elsewhere, often on a diffuser or reflector. The distance between the light source and the phosphor material determines the emitted color due to color mixing, which results in white or natural colors which may differ from true color.
In the case of the CL-930-DOM100-PC application field and working principle, the remote phosphor light source utilizes a solid state LED light source possessed with a special package which follows a standard package format (example from the DOM100) of 9mm and is in compliance with the multi-chip package (MPC) requirements used by most optics. The LED array contains a specialized phosphor layer located on the external switching area. This phosphor layer is connected by means of electrical welding or tape to the LED package containing the LED\'s. The layer works together with an optical diffuser which provides LED-type illumination with an increased lumen value relative to the LED without the phosphor layer.
Furthermore, this application also includes optical concentration, light source contained in a lens and a color filter for the white light. This combination allows the light source to create a wide, even beam pattern that is suitable for a variety of applications, such as architectural lighting and projection systems. The LED\'s used in this particular setup also offer excellent efficiency and minimal power loss due to the use of the specialized package.
The CL-930-DOM100-PC application field and working principle is an excellent example of the use of remote phosphor light source technology for different applications. By utilizing this technology, the efficiency and light output of LEDs can be significantly increased and color-corrected to produce a more natural white light without the need for an external color filter. This feature makes it an ideal choice for applications such as architectural lighting and projection systems.
