Rectangular connectors are available in a variety of designs, from one-piece to a two- or three-piece connector. The CLT-106-02-L-D-BE-P-TR is a three-piece design which comprises of two housings, a header and a female socket. It connects two pieces of equipment together wiring from both sides. And it has a minimum size, resistance toimpact and vibrations, excellent mating,and typically gray / black color.

This three-piece connector is designed for both high current signal and power applications in applications such as audio, video, computers, communication systems, business machines, consumer electronics, medical equipment, office equipmentand instrumentation.

The header is a male mating part housing ter/minal, and it installs on the PCB with its solder legs. The female socket is a housing containing receptacle terminals, and it is soldered in the PCB, with its mating part connecting with the header. Both of them must make contact with instrument panel and complete the electrical circuit. They are both keyed to ensure the correct mating alignment.

The working principle of CLT-106-02-L-D-BE-P-TR is based on the friction locking mechanism. The header has external pads on its sides which fit into the internal cutouts of the female socket, forming a plug-and-socket connection.
