CLT-131-01-L-D is a rectangular connector. It is a type of Headers, Receptacles, Female Sockets, which main function is to connect wires, cables or electrical components. The CLT-131-01-L-D is suitable for the following applications: automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics.

CLT-131-01-L-D properties include a dielectric strength of at least 500 VDC, insulation resistance of at least 5 MΩ, operating temperature range of -40 °C to + 125 °C, a maximum 13A contact current and a 25mΩ (maximum) contact resistance.

The CLT-131-01-L-D consists of an insulator housing which supports the contact that is made from electro-tinned brass. The contact consists of a middle sleeve connected to a tinned contact plate with two to three blades. The contact blades are RoHS compliant and fit into the middle sleeve of the contact. The insulator housing also contains the insulation material such as ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA).

The working principle of CLT-131-01-L-D is relatively simple. The contact plates are arranged at the edges of the housing. Two contact blades are inserted into the sleeve of the contact and are spring-loaded. As the contact is inserted into the socket, the spring-loaded contact blades slide into the corresponding contact pockets. This creates an electrical connection between the socket and the contact. As the contact is removed, the contact blades will break away from the contact pockets.
