Mica and PTFE Capacitors

CMR06F821GODP are general-purpose mica and PTFE capacitors developed by Mica Corporation. They feature low ESR and high stability. The capacitance available is from 2.2pF to 100nF and the tolerance is ±20%.

Application Field

CMR06F821GODP capacitors can be applied in applications that demand minimal ESR values and high reliability. Typical usage includes high-frequency noise filtering, precision voltage dividers, tuning and other circuits used in oscillators, delay lines as well as electronic test and data acquisition systems.

Working Principle

Mica and PTFE capacitors use mica and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) in their construction. The mica dielectric acts as a backbone providing high heat resistance and electrical insulation. The PTFE dielectric layer is then formed around the mica, providing lower dissipation factor, higher breakdown voltage and insulation resistance compared to mica dielectric alone.CMR06F821GODP capacitors are constructed in a multiple layer arrangement in order to provide lower ESR and better thermal tracking. The capacitance of these capacitors also stay nearly constant over wide temperature variations.
