Common Mode Chokes (CMC) technology has been utilized for various applications. CMT-01202 is one of the most widely used CMCs. It is a single-device package designed for DC power-line application in automotive, industrial, and telecommunications applications. CMT-01202 consists of three parts: a copper core, a pair of overlap terminals, and a pair of capacitor blocks.

The copper core material used in the CMT-01202 consists of two layers, an air-core copper-foiled helical coil, and a sheet of ferrous core material. The copper-foiled coil enhances the common-mode current transferring ability. The ferrous core sheet increases the differential-mode inductance and adds damping to reduce any trace of higher frequency noises.
