Programmable oscillators are defined as digital and direct digital devices, which represent programmable analog/digital signal sources and generate periodic/quasi-periodic waveforms, and are used as high speed signal sources in areas such as, automated test equipment, digital audio and video convergence, automatic test systems and medical instrumentation.One type of programmable oscillator is the CPPLC4-HT0PP. This programmable oscillator is based on a high-throughput quad-core, 1GHz Power Cell Architecture. It is a multi-channel programmable oscillator that can produce high speed outputs, with the capability of up to 8 channels operating at speeds of up to 1Gbps.The CPPLC4-HT0PP can be used in a variety of applications, including test and measurement, closed control loops, data acquisition, and network synchronization. It features high fidelity analogue and digital production with fast rise and fall times and programmable output levels. Additionally, it is capable of bandwidths of 10 MHz and higher.In terms of its applications, the CPPLC4-HT0PP can be used in a variety of systems associated with radio communication, communication systems, and digital electronics. It can be used in applications such as satellite communication, cellular base stations, RFID systems, synthetic aperture imaging and high speed control systems.In terms of its workings and the way it operates, the CPPLC4-HT0PP incorporates a patented low-jitter Power Cell Architecture. This Power Cell Architecture enables the oscillator to output up to 8 channels at up to 1Gbps, whilst maintaining low jitter. The architecture also allows for a significantly faster acquisition and tracking ability, which can be used for more precise and faster control of frequency response and delay.In addition, the CPPLC4-HT0PP is programmable at a pin-level, allowing for the easy change of frequencies, output levels and phases. The oscillator can be programmed with a variety of techniques, such as tap-switching, pre-programming and , parallel programming. Parallel programming provides the user with flexibility and cost effective development, as well as enabling a range of timing configurations.The CPPLC4-HT0PP offers a high speed and high accuracy solution for applications requiring wide-ranging frequencies and is suitable for OEMs, system integrators and designers to incorporate into their systems. As the CPPLC4-HT0PP can be used for highly complex and critical applications that require exacting control, it is essential for the device to offer superior performance, accuracy and reliability.To summarise, the CPPLC4-HT0PP is a programmable oscillator designed using a patented Power Cell Architecture.
