Programmable Oscillators: CPPLC4-HT5PT Application Field and Working Principle
Continuous and Pulse Designable Programmable Local Oscillator (CPPLC4-HT5PT) is a programmable oscillator that can be implemented for both continuous sinusoidal signal generation and pulses (square or rectangular) production. It is based on Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) and Frequency Synthesis Technology. This oscillator can be used in a wide range of applications such as frequency-hopping radios, or communication, radar or microwave systems.
This type of oscillator consists of two main building blocks. The first block is the VCO and the second block is the synthesizer. The VCO is made up of two LC resonators. One LC resonator is connected to the control voltage and the other is connected to the output. The synthesizer works with the Phase Locked Loop (PLL) to convert the output signal from the VCO through a process of frequency mixing and conversion.
The main application field of CPPLC4-HT5PT oscillator is in radio communication, radar and microwave systems. This type of oscillator can be used to produce continuous sinusoidal signal and also for pulse (square or rectangular) generation.
