The device contains an “on chip” voltage regulator driving the crystal, and also allowing the oscillator to stay within frequency specifications even when the supply voltage is going through a temperature variation.Due to the use of the ACCEL technology the device has close to zero temperature drift. This temperature compensation makes the device suitable for applications operating in the -35ºC to +85ºC temperature range, with no need for further temperature control or compensation.

The oscillator uses a built-in bias circuit to create an initial startup frequency that is stable over temperature and supply voltage variations. This circuit also allows for precise frequency adjustment. The built-in bias circuit is able to produce a wide-range of frequency outputs by simply changing the reference voltage values. By utilizing this circuit, normal frequency adjustments can be completed with as little as 0.5V bias voltage, providing precise control.
