CY8C20160-LDX2IT, manufactured by Cypress Semiconductor, is a 16-bit, low-power capacitive sensing controller in an HVQFN (High Voltage Quad Flatpack No-lead) package. It is ideal for sensing applications in mobile, consumer, security and portable product markets, such as consumer interfaces, sensors, touch pads, thermostats, and game controllers. The device integrates an intelligent charge transfer capacitive sensing processor, active shield, plus the latest Cypress capacitive sensing accelerator functions and can be used in multiplex sensing methodologies.

The CY8C20160-LDX2IT operates with a flexible time-based sensing architecture which allows the device to sense up to 8 button/slider electrodes. The device is also capable of sensing on a variety of materials such as conductive layers, faux leathers, PET, and FPCB\'s. The device also has an on-chip direct to RAM data capture feature which allows it to capture the raw signal data and stored it the RAM which can be later accessed via the RAM interface. The data stored in the RAM can then be used to detect user gestures through an algorithm implemented by the application software.
