CYBLE-202007-EVAL RF Evaluation and Development Kits, Boards:The CYBLE-202007-EVAL is a robust RF evaluation and development kit designed for testing and debugging the usage of the integrated controller CYBLE-202007-0042 and Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) solutions. The kit simplifies implementation for the user as its modular design allows the flexible connection of customer boards. It is ideal for multiple purposes, including firmware update, protocol tool debugging, and antenna development. Application Field:The CYBLE-202007-EVAL is applicable for Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) applications, such as short-range and low-power connections. This kit is perfect for applications like temperature monitoring, patient tracking, sports tracking, medical equipment, or any other type of BLE-enabled devices. Working Principle:CYBLE-202007-EVAL follows the General Access Profile (GAP) and Function Access Profile (FAP) control flow and processes BLE data at the application or profile level. GAP defines the behavior of communications among BLE devices, while FAP defines the implementation of the BLE application layer. The kit includes two boards—the CYBLE-202007-EVAL test board, and the CYBLE-202007-0042 SoftDevice board. The CYBLE-202007-EVAL test board houses the nRF52832 host MCU, which is preprogrammed with test applications. The CYBLE-202007-0042 SoftDevice board is an optional board which contains the BLE protocol stack (GAP, FAP) and the required board-level connections. It also contains an external memory for storing user application data, such as the host MCU’s data flash and/or system configuration. The CYBLE-202007-EVAL test board is configured to communicate with CYBLE-202007-0042 SoftDevice board via the Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter (UART) interface, the SPI, and the Slave Interface (SI). UART allows for the exchange of data between two UART-enabled devices and is perfect for high-speed data transfer requirement. The SPI is a synchronous communication protocol used for connecting two devices to transfer data. Finally, SI enables efficient transfers of data over a single-wire serial connection. The kit also includes the CYBLE-202007-EVAL evaluation board, which contains the CYBLE-202007-EVAL test board. The CYBLE-202007-EVAL evaluation board is a complete BLE test platform, and is capable of testing and verifying all the required functions during the development and debugging process. Use of the evaluation board greatly reduces the time and cost for developing BLE-enabled applications. The provided setup wizard is excellent for quick configuration and test of BLE applications. Supported modes include Central, Peripheral, Observer, and Broadcaster, allowing the user to test various BLE functions and applications. The setup wizard also provides for detailed customization, such as changing the UART settings, setting up the timing for Master and Slave communication, and setting up parameters for Interrupt Mode. The kit is completed with the included CC-Debugger, which is used for debugging and programming the chip. This device uses the two-wire JTAG interface and also supports Serial Wire Debugging (SWD) and On-Chip debugging (OCD). The CC-Debugger is also compatible with the Nordic DFU protocol, which makes it easy to update the firmware of the kit.
