The DAK-85 is a high performance evaluation board for DC/DC & AC/DC (off-line) SMPSs. It is designed to provide an efficient platform to quickly evaluate and prototype different high density, low to moderate power DC/DC and AC/DC (off-line) Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPSs). With its advanced control circuit, it allows users to quickly and precisely evaluate the performances of numerous SMPS topologies such as flyback, forward converters, half-bridge and full-bridge based switching regulators, with as little as a few mW output power.

The DAK-85 evaluation board is designed around the VoutCtrl SMPS control IC. This controller is designed to efficiently accomplish high speed buck, boost, forward and buck-boost applications. Unlike the close loop SMPS controllers, the VoutCtrl series offers users the flexibility to configure and adjust the operating parameters of the SMPS easily and precisely without the need for complex closed loop systems.

The DAK-85 evaluation board is designed to offer users the most flexible, low cost, powerful and easy-to-use system available today. This evaluation board is designed with two primary objectives: to provide powerful, flexible control for multiple topologies and operational parameters, and secondly, to provide a simple, convenient design interface for users to configure and adjust the operation of SMPS controllers.

The board is designed to provide users with the ability to evaluate their SMPS designs by allowing them to configure the operating parameters of the control circuit. The board supports a wide range of operating frequencies (10kHz to 250kHz) and output voltages (1V to 48V).
