Modern and ever-evolving technology demand the existence of highly sophisticated evaluation and demonstration boards and kits for the purpose of testing and determining the optimum application of different electronic components. One of the best examples of such an evaluation board is the DC1051A which is particularly designed for users who possess advanced expertise in the field of electronic systems. The DC1051A from Digilent Electronics is particularly incorporated with a programmable logic platform, and a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter. This board and kit plays a very crucial role in examining the application and utilization of a variety of electronic components.

Being a compact yet powerful programmable logic development board, the DC1051A thereby offers the best platform for users to explore the FPGA technology and, the development of complex logic functions. Additionally, the DC1051A evaluation and demonstration board contains a Xilinx XC3S500E Spartan-3E FPGA. This Spartan-3E FPGA would therefore offer programmable logic blocks, 18 Kbits of BRAM, two clocks for peripheral operation, and around three hundred I/O pins to enable the communication with other devices and boards.

In addition to its Spartan-3E FPGA, the DC1051A is also included with features such as ADC and DAC, LED, potentiometer, and a multitude of other connectors. The ADC and DAC would thereby allow the user to transfer the analog signals into digital form and vice versa. These ADC and DAC therefore come in two varieties, one with 2/4/8 bit data width and the other with 12/14/16 bit data. Moreover, the on-board LED would be useful for indicating any potential fault in the system. Apart from that, the DC1051A evaluation and demonstration board also contain a potentiometer and three reset switches, which might prove to be very useful during the debugging and analyzing process in order to ascertain the perfect application of the electronic components utilized in the system.

Moreover, the DC1051A evaluation and demonstration board also features USBUART bridge to connect the board into a computer through USB ports.
