DC2416A evaluation boards are a type of off-line SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply) designed to convert DC power to AC power. DC2416A boards consists of a power processor IC, two transformer coils, a voltage divider and a floating bridge rectifier. The power processor IC (Integrated Circuit) is a highly sophisticated integrated circuit capable of providing power management, voltage control, switching, logic control, current sensing, power conversion, energy management, signal conversion, analog/digital conversion, temperature compensation, power conditioning, over current protection, over voltage protection, and other important functions all in one package.

The power processor IC utilizes pulse width modulation (PWM) to convert the DC power input into an AC output. This PWM signal is created by the transformer coils, which also help in controlling the current and voltage output. The voltage divider provides feedback to the processor IC that allows the processor IC to accurately control the output voltage. Finally, a floating bridge rectifier creates a three-phase waveform to provide a more efficient conversion from AC power to DC power.
