The DEM-DAI3793AEVM is a high performance automotive power supply evaluation platform based on a Texas Instruments TPS65982 power management integrated circuit (PMIC). The platform has been specifically designed to help automotive power system designers with their system evaluations of buck-boost power supplies in automotive applications. This evaluation board includes the integrated circuit, the necessary input and output components, plus optically isolated programming and control integration for a complete laboratory evaluation. This platform is suitable for a variety of applications, both in the lab and the car, including automotive power supplies in electric vehicles.

The DEM-DAI3793AEVM platform takes the integrated circuit, the input and output components, and adds optically isolated programming and monitoring capabilities, thus forming a complete laboratory evaluation platform. The DEM-DAI3793AEVM provides full access to the integrated circuit\'s various linear and switching regulators, as well as its dedicated monitoring features. In addition, the DEM-DAI3793AEVM includes an 8-channel 8-bit analog/digital converter (ADC) and a 6-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for system advancements. The platform also includes an isolated UART connection for remote programming and debugging.

The DEM-DAI3793AEVM platform utilizes the integrated circuitry to provide a complete buck-boost dc-to-dc and inverting power supply, with all the necessary components for the design engineer to evaluate functionality and performance. Along with the integrated circuitry, the platform comes standard with isolated programming and control integration for complete laboratory tests. The platform also includes eight pins on the top edge, which provide access to many external components, such as resistors, LEDs, switches, and other components, allowing the user to customize the platform. In addition, the DEM-DAI3793AEVM uses an advanced SPI, I2C, I2S, and PWM interface for convenient and efficient control of the integrated circuits.

At the heart of the DEM-DAI3793AEVM platform is the Texas Instruments TPS65982 PMIC, which combines buck-boost regulation and a number of advanced features for the design of automotive power supplies. The PMIC contains three independent buck/boost regulators and two series-mode FETs with Peak-Current-Mode (PCM) control.
