Backplane Connectors - DIN 41612: DIN-016CSE-PW1-KR Application Field and Working PrincipleDIN 41612 is a widely used standard for backplane connectors. DIN-016CSE-PW1-KR is among the most popular for use in a wide variety of industrial applications. This type of connector is especially suited to systems with high speed data transmission requirements, as it has both low contact resistance and high signal integrity. It features improved mechanical resistance and provides good grounding and fast current transmission.This DIN connector is commonly used in electronic instrumentation, telecommunication, automotive, medical and military applications. It has a rated voltage of up to 250V and a rated current of up to 5A. It accepts a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) mating part that has a square flange and a phosphor bronze plunger.The basic working of this connector is as follows. It consists of two parts, the female and the male. The female part is connected to the contact pins of the board, which then enter the body of the connector. The male part is then combined with the board on the other side of the connector by means of a square flange. The flange attaches the male part to the board. Once the male part is fitted inside the female part they are tightly held in place by means of a phosphor bronze plungers.The electronic signals that are transmitted through the contact pins on the board are then transferred through the connector and onto the mating part. This is done by using a soldering process. The soldering process forms a reliable electrical contact between the contact pins of the board and the mating parts. This ensures that the signal is transferred without any loss.
