The DIN 41612 Backplane Connectors provide a high performance, purpose-built backplane connection solution for high-density applications. The DIN-096CSC-R1L-KR is a type of DIN 41612 backplane connector with a 96 Pin Rack-Mounted mated configuration.

Application Field

The DIN 41612 Backplane Connectors are an ideal solution for high-performance, high-density applications where vertical or right-angle mated connections are required. It is also suitable for applications with higher electrical performance requirements, including high-speed signal transmission, power transfer, and Ethernet applications, as well as network switching and storage applications. The DIN-096CSC-R1L-KR is a Rack-Mounted connector with an ideal backplane placement. It can be used for data transfer and other applications in telecommunications, audio/video, industrial control, medical, railway, and automotive markets.

Working Principle

The DIN-096CSC-R1L-KR has a top-entry design with a 96-pin mated configuration. It utilizes a push-to-mate mating mechanism, making it suitable for applications where frequent disconnection and connection are required. The connector also has a self-aligning feature, allowing the mating components to self-align in the center of the contact and reduce misalignment. This helps to optimize the contact force, and protect against the excessive force or lateral movement.

The DIN-096CSC-R1L-KR features two layers: male and female. The female layer has a box design with a DIN 41612 standard 2.5mm pitch on each side, for a total of 96 contact pins. The male layer features a 48-pin configuration and is connected to the backplane through an integrated mounting plate. The connection between the two layers is achieved via a spring-locking mechanism, with a locking hook pre-mounted to the male layer.

The DIN-096CSC-R1L-KR also features a gold-plated contact design for maximum connector efficiency and dissipation of EMI/RFI radiation. For secure connections the female layer is also provided with two retention clips, which also ensure proper alignment during mating. All these features provide reliable signal integrity and secure connections.

In addition, the connector is designed with a UL 94V-0 flame retardant sleeve for enhanced safety. The material used in the manufacturing process complies with RoHS standards, ensuring that the connector is environmentally friendly and free from hazardous chemicals. Last but not least, the connector has a high-temperature plastic cover, which helps protect the contacts from dust and dirt during installation and use.
