DS2155GN are bridge-tied load amplifiers that are designed to interface Dynamic Signal Analyzers (DSA) to medium-impedance loads connected to a low-impedance port at the phone side of a hybrid-controlled two-wire line. The device has its highest linearity, ideal performance level and best accuracy when connected to high speed, demanding communication systems.

As far as its application is concerned, DS2155GN provides a strong, accurate and low-cost alternative to costly and complex active components. It is widely used as an interface for DSA systems for medium-impedance network elements, signal interface for broadband access applications, and linear compliance transducers for both analog and digital signal tests.

DS2155GN also works with a wide variety of medium impedance phone side equipment, such as: telephone switches, transmission systems, private branch exchanges, facsimile machines, cellular phones, satellite systems, etc. Its key feature includes a higher linearity, meaning it is more accurate and reliable than the traditional hybrid systems.

The working principle of DS2155GN is based on electromechanical manipulation of a diode bridge rectifying circuit in a 6-pin SIP (single-in-line package) integrated circuit. The bridge is connected to a differential type amplifier that develops a differential output signal as a function of the reference signal it receives. This might sound confusing, but to put it simply, each pin present in the DS2155GN amplifies its applied signal from the reference signal, thus providing a differential output voltage.

This differential voltage is then converted to a voltage signal that’s suitable for the DSA system. The DS2155GN comprises of two diodes, two resistors and two capacitors, in combination with an optical coupling device, to form the necessary components for linear regulation of the input signal.

The device’s input impedance is very high, which simplifies the design of DSA systems requiring low impedances at the phone side. The DS2155GN also works well in cancelling cross-talk and crosstalk caused by other electronic components in the system. It even offers a degree of isolation from the input and output lines, enabling it to work more effectively in environments where interference may be present.
